Dupatta is also a part of it for women living in
Pakistan. It is not only a causal wear but it is also formal wear to wear on
any formal occasion such as weddings, parties, get togethers etc. It is easy
and simple to wear and you can be much comfortable in it.
Mostly on mehndi function, the bride prefers to wear shalwar
kameez. Usually the bride wears it in a yellow color or in combination of green
but now the trend has been changed. You will now see brides wearing their
mehndi dresses in pinks, turquoise or in combination of yellow and turquoise,
or even yellow and pink.
The dress is designed and made beautiful with slight
embroidery or usually gota kinari. Sometimes the dress is completely simple and
plain and only the dupatta is given a fancy look either with embroidery or with
other embellishments. Sometimes even just a fancy lace is used to make the
dress formal and attractive.
The bride usually wears "gajras" on the mehndi
that adds a look of tradition to her dress and gives her an eastern look and
makes her look elegant and graceful. Sometimes the bride's sisters, cousins and
friends wear the dress of same color as of bride's wedding dress. On the other
hand they all can also select a color theme that everyone wears giving a unique
look to the event.
